The 2017 Glow For Hope takes place on Friday, May 5 at 7:30pm on the HopeTree Family Services campus in Salem, VA.

Registration Fees are as follows:

  • 5K Run: $25, which includes your race packet and t-shirt.
  • 2K Fun Walk: Free. Walkers who wish to receive a t-shirt must raise at least $25.

Food and beverages will be available for all participants, free of charge.

Upon registering, you will be given a personal fundraising page to share with others. We encourage you to set your own fundraising goal and invite your friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors to make a “pledge” towards your goal. You can share the link using social media and email. Help us help others, and have fun doing it!

Ready, set, go! Runners pay a $25 registration fee, which covers the cost of the race and a t-shirt. The race is timed, and prizes will be presented to runners according to their age group.

*To guarantee your t-shirt, you must register and pay the $25 by April 15.

*Timing services are provided by Run Roanoke.

Maybe you aren’t quite ready for a 5K, or you just want to join the fun with your family. If so, walk our 2K course for FREE. Strollers are welcome, so bring the little ones for an evening of great entertainment for all ages. If you want an event t-shirt, we ask that you raise at least $25.

Grab your friends, family members, and coworkers and create your own team! The more the merrier! You can even make it a friendly competition by competing against other teams you know. Others can also sponsor your team by donating to HopeTree on your behalf.

Friday, May 5 12pm – 1pm Early packet pick-up at HopeTree.
Friday, May 5 4pm – 5pm Early packet pick-up at HopeTree.
Friday, May 5 6:30pm Registration open.
Friday, May 5 7:30pm Registration closes. Zumba warm-up from Just Dance Roanoke begins.
Friday, May 5 8pm Timed 5K Run & 2K Fun Walk begins. Glow Party continues.
Friday, May 5 Approximately 8:45pm Glow Party continues. Age group awards announced.

A gift card will be awarded to the walker and runner who raise the most money.

We will also award medals for the:

  • Top three overall male and female finishers
  • Top three male and female finishers in the following age groups:

14 and under       15-19      20-24      25-29      30-34      35-39      40-44      45-49      50-54      55-59      ♦60-64      65-69      70+

Prize winners will be determined by May 18. Winners will be notified by 5:00 pm on May 20 that they have won. Winners have until May 25 to redeem their prize.

Fundraising pages will remain active after the event, but donations received after the event will not count towards the contest. Offline participants are also eligible to receive prizes.

Prize rules are subject to change.

What is the cancellation policy?

This is a rain or shine event. We will cancel, however, if there is lightning in the area. If the event is canceled, no refunds will be issued to runners, but you can either receive free registration for the 2018 Glow for Hope or consider your $25 registration fee a donation to HopeTree Family Services.

Can I bring a stroller?

Yes, strollers are welcome!

Can I bring my pet?

We allow service animals only at this event.
